What better way to get started for the weekend than with a little socializing and some friendly smack talk. We will meet at the posted coordinates.

The Amazing GeoRace - GC4WRXQ
Sat March 15 - 11:00am CST

Lunch - 11:00 am CST - 12:30 pm CST​​

$5.00 per person (10 and under free)

 

The day will kick off with a Lunch get together at Eastgate park. This is a nice 200 acre park on the outskirts of Dothan. We will meet at the pavilion by the baseball fields. We will be serving lunch on a first come first served basis while the food lasts. You can enjoy Lunch (Food To Be Determined) and refreshments while getting to know cachers from all over the area. There will be a $5 per person fee for lunch. Seating is limited so don't forget to bring your folding chairs. This will be a great opportunity to get to know some local cachers you may not have met yet.

Note: Please let us know how many people you will have in your group when logging your "Attend". We want to make sure there is enough food for everyone.

Amazing GeoRace - 12:30 pm CST - 4:00 pm CST

​

Immediately following lunch the Amazing GeoRace will begin. Teams will need to check in during lunch to establish start times. Each team should try to consist of approximately 4-6 people per team. We are requiring minimum of 4 people per team. (Children are welcomed and encouraged to help their parents in the race.) If you don't have an organized team when you arrive, don't worry. There will be plenty of folks needing other team members when you arrive.

This event will require your team to travel (drive) around certain parts of Dothan grabbing caches and clues. Every team must be back by a certain time. Each cache will require a "Find" to get credit. There will be challenges at each cache location. This year the Amazing GeoRace will consist of 6 caches with challenges associated with each one. The challenges will not be too demanding but participation will definitely be to your advantage. One camera or cell phone with camera capabilities is required per team.

Once everyone returns from the race we will announce the winners. There will also be several door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Who's up for some night caching? We are still working on a location but we have some very fun plans for our night caching event. Make sure you log your will attend so we will know who to expect.

We wold like to send our champions off with a good healthy meal. Let's get together for a last meal before everyone goes home.
